1128. Hoy celebramos el Día Internacional del Libro

El Día Internacional del Libro es una conmemoración celebrada a nivel internacional, establecido por la UNESCO, celebrada cada 23 de abril desde 1996 en varios países, con el objetivo fundamental de fomentar la lectura.
La elección del día 23 de abril como fecha idónea para celebrar el Día Internacional del Libro, procede de la coincidencia del fallecimiento de los escritores Miguel de Cervantes y William Shakespeare en la misma fecha del año 1616.

1127. Karting Carlos Sainz

El pasado fin de semana, un pequeño grupo de alumnos residentes estuvieron disfrutando de una tarde de carreras de coches en uno de los mejores circuitos de karts indoor de Europa, situado en el Carlos Sainz Center de las Rozas.
Sin duda una tarde de auténtico disfrute.

Last weekend, a small group of resident students were enjoying an afternoon of car racing in one of the best indoor karting circuits in Europe, located at the Carlos Sainz Center in las Rozas.

1125. Teatro-Residencia SEK-El Castillo: “El Día D”

Tal y como anunciamos en la entrada anterior, el Grupo de Teatro de la Residencia proyectará el cortometraje de humor titulado “El Día D”. Esta proyección es una de las muchas actividades que habrá durante la jornada de puertas abiertas que celebraremos este próximo sábado 20 de abril.

As we announced in the previous entry, the Residency Theater Group will screen the short comedy film titled “El Día D”. This screening is one of the many activities that will take place during the open day that we will celebrate this coming Saturday, April 20.

1124. Vive tu Colegio. Open Day 2024

El próximo sábado 20 de Abril, el Colegio Internacional SEK- El Castillo abre sus puertas en la, ya tradicional, celebración de su Día Abierto llamado VIVE TU COLEGIO.
Una jornada de puertas abiertas en la que se comparten con todos los alumnos, familiares y amigos, diferentes actividades educativas, culturales y recreativas que se realizan en el colegio.
El Grupo de Teatro de la Residencia proyectará la película “El Día D”. Un cortometraje de sketches, donde el humor y la ironía son los protagonistas.
Con el deseo de que disfrutéis al máximo de nuestro Colegio, les esperamos.

1123. Visita a Buitrago del Lozoya

El pasado sábado, nuestros alumnos residentes disfrutaron de la belleza de Buitrago del Lozoya. Un precioso pueblo de la Comunidad de Madrid, considerado Patrimonio Medieval, donde destaca: un largo recinto amurallado, el castillo de los Mendoza, iglesia de Santa María del Castillo… incluso les dio tiempo a visitar la colección particular de Picasso con las pinturas y objetos que el pintor regaló a Eugenio Arias, su peluquero personal.
Un viaje de lo más cultural y entretenido.

Last Saturday, our resident students enjoyed the beauty of Buitrago del Lozoya. A beautiful town in the Community of Madrid, considered Medieval Heritage, where it stands out: a long walled enclosure, the Mendoza castle, the church of Santa María del Castillo… they even had time to visit Picasso’s private collection with paintings and objects. which the painter gave to Eugenio Arias, his personal hairdresser.
A most cultural and entertaining trip.

1122. Último tramo…

Terminada la Semana Santa regresamos a nuestra Residencia con la ilusión puesta en terminar el curso. Cada uno de nuestros Alumnos Residentes hará un último y gran esfuerzo en conseguir los mejores resultados académicos.
Seguiremos trabajando para conseguir los objetivos académicos, deportivos y culturales que nos marcamos al inicio. De esta forma llegaremos a buen puerto en lo poco que nos queda del curso 2023-2024.
Mis mejores deseos para todos.

After Easter we returned to our Residence with the hope of finishing the course. Each of our Resident Students will make a last and great effort to achieve the best academic results.
We will continue working to achieve the academic, sports and cultural objectives that we set for ourselves at the beginning. In this way we will come to fruition in what little we have left of the 2023-2024 academic year.

1119. Disfrutando del Parque del Retiro

El pasado sábado nuestros alumnos pudieron disfrutar de una tarde de sábado primaveral en el famoso Parque del Retiro que se encuentra en pleno centro de Madrid.
También conocieron la famosa cuesta de Moyano, donde se venden libros de segunda mano.

1118. Alumnos residentes de intercambio en Suiza

Durante toda la semana, algunos de nuestros alumnos residentes están en Suiza.
Se trata de un intercambio lingüístico-cultural que les ayuda a convivir y compartir con otros alumnos de allí, quienes más adelante nos devolverán la visita.
Entre las muchas actividades programadas destacamos la Visita al Alimentarium, al Museo Chaplinsworld, al Museo Olímpico, a las zonas más turísticas de Ginebra o al Castillo de Chillón.
El próximo lunes regresarán y podrán hacernos partícipes de todo lo vivido durante una estupenda semana.

Throughout the week, some of our resident students are in Switzerland.
It is a linguistic-cultural exchange that helps them live and share with other students there, who will later return the visit to us.
Among the many scheduled activities we highlight the Visit to the Alimentarium, the Chaplinsworld Museum, the Olympic Museum, the most tourist areas of Geneva or the Chillón Castle.
Next Monday they will return and will be able to share with us everything they experienced during a great week.

1117.  Premios Oscars 2024: “OppenHeimer” de Christopher Nolan

Ayer se celebró la gran fiesta del cine americano con la edición número 96 de los famosos Oscars: premios cinematográficos otorgados anualmente por la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de EE.UU.

La gran triunfadora de la noche fue la película “Oppenheimer” de Christopher Nolan, película que se llevó hasta 7 premios Oscars, incluyendo los premios “gordos” de Mejor Película y Mejor Dirección del año.

Yesterday the great festival of American cinema was celebrated with the 96th edition of the famous Oscars: film awards awarded annually by the US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The big winner of the night was the film “Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan, a film that won up to 7 Oscars, including the “big” awards for Best Film and Best Director of the year.
