Grease es fundamentalmente conocida por su música, tanto es así que la mayoría de nuestros alumnos, pese a los años que hace que se estrenó la película, tararean sus canciones.
El musical cuenta la historia de amor del rebelde Danny Zuko (interpretado magistralmente por John Travolta) y la inocente Sandy Olson (Olivia Newton-John). Ambos se conocen durante el verano y se despiden con la creencia de que nunca más volverán a verse. Sin embargo Sandy se matricula en el mismo instituto que Danny, descubriendo que nada tiene que ver con el chico romántico del verano ya que es el líder indiscutible de una pandilla de rebeldes adolescentes.
Grease marcó a toda una generación de jóvenes que adoptaron sus canciones y bailes así como sus peinados y gestos.
La película está basada en un musical del mismo nombre que se estrenó 6 años antes y que sitúa la historia en la década de los 50 del siglo pasado. Fue esta película la que consolidó a John Travolta y la que lanzó al estrellato a Olivia Newton-John, pareja protagonista convertida en icono cinematográfico gracias a Grease.

Grease is fundamentally known for its music, so much so that most of our students, despite the year at which the film was debuted, sang along.
The musical is based on the love story between the rebellious Danny Zuko (masterfully portrayed by John Travolta) and the innocent Sandy Olson (Olivia Newton-John).
They met during the summer and said goodbye with the belief that would never see each other again. However, Sandy starts in the same institute as Danny, discovering that he was nothing like the romantic she met during summer, but rather the undisputed leader of a gang of teenage rebels.
Grease marked a whole generation of young people who began to adopt its songs and dances as well as their hairstyles and gestures.
The film is based on a musical with the same name that was released 6 years earlier, putting the story in the 50’s of the last century. It was this film that consolidated John Travolta and sent Olivia Newton-John to the stardom, a protagonist pair turned into an iconic icon thanks to Grease.
