634. Actividades Extraescolares. Museo Reina Sofía: “Guernica”

Ayer un numeroso grupo de alumnos residentes pudieron disfrutar de una visita al Museo de arte contemporáneo Reina Sofía. En la colección permanente del museo destaca un núcleo de obras de grandes artistas españoles del siglo XX, especialmente Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí y Joan Miró.
En nuestra visita nos centramos, previa extensa explicación el día anterior, en profundizar en el famoso cuadro del Guernica, obra maestra de Pablo Picasso.
“Guernica” fue pintado en los meses de mayo y junio de 1937, cuyo título alude al bombardeo de Guernica ocurrido el 26 de abril de dicho año durante la guerra civil española. El cuadro no sólo está considerado como una de las obras más importantes del arte del siglo XX, sino que también se ha convertido en un auténtico icono del siglo XX, símbolo de los terribles sufrimientos que la guerra inflige a los seres humanos.

Yesterday a large group of resident students were able to enjoy a visit to the Reina Sofía Museum of Contemporary Art. In the permanent collection of the museum there is a collection of works by great Spanish artists of the 20th century, especially Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró.
In our visit, we focused, after extensive explanation the previous day, to delve into the famous painting of Guernica, Pablo Picasso’s masterpiece.
«Guernica» was painted in the months of May and June of 1937, in which its title alludes to the bombing of Guernica that occurred on April 26 of that year during the Spanish Civil War. The painting is not only considered one of the most important works of twentieth century art, but also has become a true icon of the twentieth century, a symbol of the terrible suffering that war inflicts on human beings.
