LA BELLA Y LA BESTIA de Bill Condon (EE.UU. 2017)
Fecha y Hora: Jueves 1 de Febrero. 20:30 horas.
Lugar: Salón de Actos de la Residencia.
Para: Todos los alumnos residentes.
El próximo jueves disfrutaremos de la última versión de La Bella y la Bestia. Una adaptación con actores reales del clásico de animación de Disney. Además de la interpretación de Emma Watson, en el papel de Bella, en la película destaca tanto sus efectos especiales como su reconocida banda sonora.
Cuenta la historia de Bella, una joven brillante y enérgica que sueña con aventuras en un mundo que se extiende más allá de su pequeño pueblo. Todo cambia un día cuando su padre es encarcelado en el castillo de una horrible Bestia y Bella se ofrece a intercambiarse con su padre. Rápidamente se hace amiga del antiguo personal del lugar, que fue transformado en objetos del hogar tras una maldición lanzada por una hechicera.

Next Thursday we will enjoy the latest version of Beauty and the Beast. An adaptation with real actors of the Disney animation classic. In addition to the acting of Emma Watson, in the role of Bella, the film highlights both its special effects and its recognized soundtrack.
This movie tells the story of Bella, a bright and energetic young woman who dreams of adventures in a world that extends beyond her small town. Everything changes one day when her father is imprisoned in the castle of a horrible Beast and Bella offers to change places with her father. She quickly befriends the old staff of the place, who were all transformed into household objects after a curse cast by a sorceress.

El Grupo de Teatro de la Residencia SEK-El Castillo celebró ayer el éxito que obtuvo el pasado 20 de Diciembre con la función “VECINOS”. Merecida celebración tras el esfuerzo y excelente trabajo con el que terminó el primer trimestre del Taller de Teatro.
Ahora seguimos con las clases: expresión corporal, voz, improvisaciones… todo lo que conlleva a cabo la puesta en marcha de futuros proyectos.

Yesterday, the Theatre Group of the SEK-El Castillo boarding house celebrated their success from last December 20st in the play “NEIGHBOURS”.After all the effort made and the excellent outcome that ended the first quarter of the Theatre Activity, it was well deserved.
Now we will continue with the classes: bodily expression, voice, improvisation… all that entails the implementation of future projects.
We will keep informing.

EL DISCURSO DEL REY de Tom Hooper (Reino Unido-2010)
Fecha y hora: Jueves 18 de Enero. A las 20:30 horas.
Lugar: Salón de Actos de la Residencia.
Para: Alumnos Residentes de 3º y 4º ESO y Bachillerato.
El discurso del Rey es una película basada en hechos reales. Logró los 4 Premios Oscar más importantes: Mejor Película del año, Mejor Director, Mejor Actor protagonista y el Mejor Guion original.
Jorge VI, interpretado magistralmente por Colin Firth, se convierte en rey, después de la polémica abdicación de su hermano Eduardo VIII, pero tiene dificultades para gobernar debido a que tartamudea. Para superar este problema, decide recurrir a un terapeuta del habla poco ortodoxo interpretado por Geoffrey Rush. Los dos hombres se convierten en amigos a medida que trabajan juntos. El nuevo rey se basa en las enseñanzas de tan extraño terapeuta para ayudarle a hacer un discurso de radio en el comienzo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
THE KING’S SPEECH by Tom Hooper (United Kingdom-2010)

Location: Assembly Hall of the Residence.
For: Resident students of 3rd and 4th ESO and Baccalaureate.
The King’s speech is a film based on real events. It managed the 4 most important Oscars: best film of the year, Best Director, Best Actor actor and best original screenplay.
Jorge VI, who is masterfully played by Colin Firth, becomes King, after the controversial abdication of his brother Eduard VIII, but has difficulties to governing since he stutters. To overcome this problem, he decides to resort to an unorthodox speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush. The two men become friends while they work together. The new King is aided by the teachings of the strange therapist to help make a speech on the radio at the start of the second world war.

EL SHOW DE TRUMAN de Peter Weir (EE.UU. 1998)
Fecha y hora: Jueves 11 de Enero. 20:30 horas.
Lugar: Salón de Actos de la Residencia.
Para: Alumnos Residentes de 3º y 4º ESO y Bachillerato.
En 1998 Peter Weir sorprendió a la industria del cine con una película de gran contenido ético y filosófico a la par que muy entretenida y comercial. Esa mezcla le proporcionó numerosos premios cinematográficos, mucha afluencia de público y gran valoración por parte de la crítica.
Muestra el mundo del personaje llamado Truman, considerado por la crítica como la mejor interpretación de Jim Carrey en toda su carrera, que vive una especie de gigantesco “Gran Hermano” en el que todas las experiencias de su vida son creadas intencionadamente para condicionar su forma de ser. Truman no es más que el objeto de un cruel experimento en el que no se deja nada al azar.
Además del gran trabajo que realiza Jim Carrey, cabe destacar a Ed Harris, actor que interpreta a Christof, personaje que representa la avaricia televisiva por la audiencia y que no escatimará trucos emocionales para conseguir que su producto televisivo se mantenga en la cresta de la ola.

THE TRUMAN SHOW by Peter Weir (USA 1998)
Date and time: Thursday, January 11. 8:30 p.m.
Place: Auditorium of the Residence.
For: Resident students of 3rd and 4th ESO and Bachillerato.
In 1998 Peter Weir surprised the film industry with a film of great ethical and philosophical content while at the same time very entertaining and commercial. That mixture provided him with several film awards, a large influx of public and great appreciation by the critics.
It shows the world of the character named Truman, considered to be one of Jim Carrey best acting, who lives a kind of gigantic «Big Brother» in which all the experiences of his life are intentionally created to condition his way of being. Truman is no more than the object of a cruel life in which nothing is left to chance.
In addition to the great work that Jim Carrey performs, it is worth mentioning Ed Harris, an actor who plays a Christ, a character that represents television greed for the audience and who will not skimp on the emotional tricks to make his television product stay on top of the world.
