El Día Internacional del Libro es una conmemoración celebrada a nivel internacional, establecido por la UNESCO, celebrada cada 23 de abril desde 1996 en varios países, con el objetivo fundamental de fomentar la lectura.
La elección del día 23 de abril como fecha idónea para celebrar el Día Internacional del Libro, procede de la coincidencia del fallecimiento de los escritores Miguel de Cervantes y William Shakespeare en la misma fecha del año 1616.

Hoy se celebró el tradicional Día Abierto en todas las instalaciones del Colegio SEK-El Castillo. Desde la Residencia hemos compartido una clase abierta de teatro en el patio central del colegio, un stand con información sobre el programa “Duke of Edimburgh´s” y una exposición de Arte Visual en una de las salas de la Residencia.

Today the traditional Open Day was celebrated in SEK-El Castillo. From the Residence we have shared an open theater class in the central courtyard of the school, a stand with information about the «Duke of Edimburgh’s» program and an exhibition of Visual Arts in one of the rooms of the Residence.

El próximo sábado 21 de Abril, el Colegio Internacional SEK- El Castillo abre sus puertas en la, ya tradicional, celebración de su Día Abierto llamado VIVE TU COLEGIO.
Una jornada de puertas abiertas en la que se comparten con todos los alumnos, familiares y amigos, diferentes actividades educativas, culturales y recreativas que se realizan en el colegio.
La Residencia Internacional SEK-El Castillo invita a todos a visitar sus instalaciones por lo que tendremos la Residencia abierta a vuestra disposición.
El Grupo de Teatro de la Residencia dará una Clase abierta de teatro, en el patio central, para que todos los asistentes participen del peculiar proceso de aprendizaje que se lleva a cabo en un taller de teatro: expresión corporal, música, improvisaciones…
Con el deseo de que disfrutéis al máximo de nuestra Residencia y de cada una de las instalaciones de nuestro Colegio les esperamos.

Next Saturday, April 21st, the International School SEK- El Castillo opens its doors in the traditional celebration of its Open Day called LIVE YOUR SCHOOL.
A day of open doors, shared with all students, family and friends, different educational, cultural and recreational activities will take place in the school.
The International Residence SEK-El Castillo invites everyone to visit its facilities so we will have the Residence open at your disposal.
The Residence Theater Group will give an open theater class, in the central courtyard, so that all the participants can participate in the peculiar learning process that takes place in a theater workshop: body language, music, improvisations …

FIESTA DE LA PRIMAVERA 2018
Fecha y hora: Miércoles 18 de Abril. 18:00 horas.
Lugar: Pradera de la Residencia.
Para: Todos los alumnos residentes.
Ya estamos preparando nuestra tradicional Fiesta de la Primavera. Nuestros Alumnos Residentes, con la fórmula del conocido juego del “amigo invisible” se regalarán entre ellos Claveles y Bombones, poniendo color y sabor a la amistad que les une como compañeros de Colegio y Residencia.
Por noveno año consecutivo volveremos a solidarizarnos con Unicef a través de nuestro Árbol Solidario de los Deseos. En un árbol de la pradera de la Residencia colgaremos cintas de tela. Cintas que cada uno de nosotros compramos, a un precio simbólico, para destinar la totalidad de lo recaudado a Unicef. En cada cinta escribiremos un deseo con la intención de que el viento, el sol, la lluvia, el día, la noche… tome conciencia poética de los mismos y en suerte de un ritual atávico se cumplan.

To: All resident students.
We are already preparing our traditional Spring Festival. Our Resident Students, following the well-known game of the «invisible friend» will give each other Flowers and Chocolates, giving color and flavor to the friendship that unites them as companions of School and Residence.
For the ninth year in a row we are turning solidarity with Unicef through our Solidarity Tree of Desires. We will hang cloth ribbons on a prairie tree in the Residence. Ribbons that each of us buy, at a symbolic price, to allocate all of the proceeds to Unicef. On each ribbon we will write a wish with the intention that the wind, the sun, the rain, the day, the night … take poetic awareness of them and in luck of an atavistic ritual they are fulfilled.

Fecha y hora: Jueves 5 y 12 de abril. 20:30 horas.
Lugar: Salón de Actos de la Residencia.
Para: Todos los alumnos residentes.
Nota: Dada su extensa duración veremos la película a lo largo de 2 jueves, como si de una serie de 2 capítulos se tratase.
Titanic está basada en hechos reales de sobra conocidos prácticamente por la totalidad del planeta. Cabe destacar que, pese a tan trágico acontecimiento, su director James Cameron realiza un ejercicio soberbio de cine con el que logra hacer vibrar al espectador pese a que éste ya conoce el desenlace. Para ello se sirve, además de los últimos avances cinematográficos en efectos especiales, de unos actores en estado de gracia, Leonardo DiCaprio y Kate Winslet que protagonizan una historia de amor que nos hará sentir más cómplices con el dolor de la catástrofe.
Titanic, junto a Ben-Hur y El señor de los anillos, ostenta el título de ser una de las películas con más Premios Oscar de toda la historia del cine americano: 11 Oscars cada una de ellas, incluyendo el de Mejor Película del año.

Note: Given its long duration we will see the film throughout 2 Thursdays, as if it were a series of 2 chapters.
Titanic is based on real facts of well-known event throughout the whole world. It should be noted that, despite such a tragic event, its director James Cameron creates such a good plot in which he manages to keep the viewers on their toes despite the fact that they already knows the outcome. For this purpose, in addition to the latest cinematographic advances in special effects, actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet star in a love story that will make us feel more complicit with the pain of the catastrophe.
Titanic, along with Ben-Hur and The Lord of the Rings, holds the title of being one of the most Oscar-winning films in the history of American cinema: 11 Oscars each, including Best Film of the Year.
