En el año 2000 el director, productor y actor británico Stephen Daldry sorprendió al mundo cinematográfico con su bellísima y premiada película Billy Elliot. Sus películas son fundamentalmente un recital interpretativo donde la acción recae en los personajes, que dirige con una fuerza e inquietud verdaderamente brillante. Así el actor y bailarín Jamie Bell, con tan sólo 14 años, consigue interpretar el papel de Billy Elliot con un desparpajo y soltura que le llevó a conseguir innumerables premios.

Sinopsis: Billy Elliot es un niño de 11 años, hijo de un minero, que vive en el norte de Inglaterra. Su vida cambiará para siempre al conocer a la Sra. Wilkinson, que da clase de ballet en el gimnasio donde él intenta aprender a boxear.
