La vida es bella es una película que ha entrado por méritos propios en la lista de Obras Maestras de la historia del cine. En 1998 el actor y director Roberto Benigni sorprendió al mundo entero con una fábula extraordinaria que narra las vicisitudes que tiene que correr un padre para proteger a su hijo de los horrores de la guerra. La película, escrita, protagonizada y dirigida por Benigni, tiene dos partes bien diferenciadas.
En la primera prevalece un tono romántico y cómico para contarnos la historia de amor del personaje Guido, interpretado por el propio Benigni.
En la segunda parte, Guido y su familia son deportados a un campo de concentración nazi lo que le otorga al film un tono más dramático, pero, y ahí radica su brillante originalidad, sin abandonar en ningún momento el tono cómico y fabulador de la historia. Su título encierra en sí toda una declaración de principios, un canto a la belleza de la vida a pesar de la guerra.

Life is beautiful is a film that has entered by its own merits in the list of Masterpieces in the history of cinema. In 1998 the actor and director Roberto Benigni surprised the whole world with an extraordinary tale that tells the lengths that a father has to go to to protect his son from the horrors of war. The film, written, starring and directed by Benigni, has two distinct parts.
In the first, a romantic and comedic tone prevails to tell us the love story of the character Guido, played by Benigni himself.
In the second part, Guido and his family are deported to a Nazi concentration camp which gives the film a more dramatic tone, but, and therein lies its brilliant originality, without abandoning at any time the comical and fabulous tone of the story .
Its title encloses in itself a declaration of principles, a song to the beauty of life in spite of the war.
