561. Fotos Halloween 2016

Aquí tenéis las fotos de Halloween 2016. Una tarde estupenda en la que nuestros alumnos residentes emplearon gran dosis de creatividad a la hora de disfrazarse. El plato fuerte de la fiesta se llevó a cabo después de cenar. Un pequeño grupo de alumnos junto a un educador se convirtieron en los actores de una terrorífica sorpresa: un pasaje del terror que atravesaron sus compañeros combinando gritos y risas a partes iguales.
Gracias a todos por conseguir, con vuestra excelente colaboración, hacer una excelente fiesta de Halloween.

Here you have the pictures of Halloween 2016. A great evening in which our boarding students used a hand full of creativity when dressing up. The highlight of the party took place after dinner. A small group of students, together with an educator, turned into the actors of a terrifying surprise: they walked through a passage of terror, combining screams and laughter.

559. Fin de semana: Bolera y Baloncesto

Los fines de semana, aparte de realizar los estudios matinales, nuestros alumnos residentes tienen tiempo de realizar todo tipo de actividades.
El pasado sábado pudieron disfrutar de la Bolera que se encuentra en el Centro Equinoccio de Majadahonda. El domingo asistieron al partido de Baloncesto que jugaron sus propios compañeros de clase: la cantera de Baloncesto-Real Madrid.

Over the weekends, apart from the morning study hours, the boarding students get to do all kinds of activities.
Last Saturday they got the opportunity to enjoy bowling at the Centro Equinoccio de Majadahonda. On Sunday they attended the basketball match of their classmates: the basketball quarry of Real Madrid.

558. Preparando Halloween 2016

El jueves de la próxima semana celebraremos Halloween 2016. Una fiesta donde disfraces “terroríficos”, juegos, música, merendola… serán los protagonistas.
Ayer, un numeroso grupo de alumnos residentes, fueron de compras con la intención de buscar el disfraz, máscara o maquillaje idóneos para la ocasión.

Next Thursday we will be celebrating Halloween 2016; a party in which “terrifying” costumes, games, music, snacks… will be foregrounding.
Yesterday a large group of boarding students went shopping for Halloween costumes, masks and make-up for the occasion.

557. Actividades Extraescolares: HOLI RUN de Alcorcón.

Ayer, nuestros alumnos residentes pudieron disfrutar de la Holi Run en Alcorcón. La HOLI RUN es la 1ª Carrera de colores de España que junta deporte, alegría, felicidad, música y, sobre todo, mucho color. Es una carrera de 5 kilómetros sin tiempo, donde miles de participantes son rociados de pies a cabeza con diferentes polvos de colores a cada kilómetro. HOLI RUN es una carrera no competitiva y para tod@s… el único requisito es acudir con ganas de pasárselo bien y de disfrutar al máximo en compañía de miles de personas de un día inolvidable.

Yesterday our boarding students got the opportunity to enjoy the Holi Run in Alcorcón. The HOLI RUN is the 1st colour race in Spain which joins together sport, joy, happiness, music, and above all, a lot of colour. It’s a 5 kilometer run (without time) in which thousands of participants end up covered from head to toe in different colours of powder thrown at them after every kilometer. HOLI RUN is a non-competitive run and for everyone… the only requirement is to participate with the motivation to have a good time and enjoy the experience of such an unforgettable day in the company of thousands of people.

556. Cine-fórum: “Los otros” de Alejandro Amenábar

LOS OTROS de Alejandro Amenábar (ESPAÑA-FRANCIA y EE.UU.-2001)
Fecha y hora: Jueves 20 de Octubre. 20:45 horas.
Lugar: Salón de Actos de la Residencia.
Para: Alumnos Residentes de 4º de ESO y Bachillerato.

Alejandro Amenábar es uno de los grandes directores de la actualidad cinematográfica española. Con tan sólo 6 películas ha conseguido multitud de premios y reconocimiento a nivel nacional e internacional, siendo su premio más importante el Oscar a la Mejor Película de Habla no inglesa conseguido en 2005 por “Mar adentro”.

Los Otros es su tercera película, protagonizada por la gran Nicole Kidman. Es una coproducción hispano-franco-estadounidense que ganó ocho premios Goya, destacando los dos más codiciados: Mejor Dirección y Mejor Película del año 2001.
En la película existe una clara referencia a las obras del aclamado Alfred Hitchcock, hasta el hecho de que Amenábar convierte a Nicole Kidman en una rubia asustada que nos recuerda a las célebres protagonistas de Hitckcock.

Alejandro Amenábar is one of the greatest directors in the present day Spanish cinematographic. With only 6 films won numerous awards and recognition at a national as well as international level, «Mar adentro» having won his most important award; the Oscar for the best non-English speaking movie achieved in 2005.
The Others is his third movie, the protagonist being the famous Nicole Kidman. It is a Spanish-Franco-American coproduction which won eight Goya awards, highlighting the two most sought after: Best direction and beat movie of the year 2001.
In the film there is a clear reference to the work of the well-known Alfred Hitchcock, to the fact that Amenábar Nicole Kidman makes a scared blonde reminiscent of the famous protagonists of Hitckcock.

555. Tarde de cine, compras, juegos…

Ayer, pese a la lluvia, nuestros alumnos residentes pudieron pasar una estupenda tarde en el centro comercial Xanadú. Disfrutaron, en una de las salas de cine, con la última película del aclamado Director Tim Burton: “El hogar de Miss Peregrine para niños peculiares”.

Yesterday, despite that it was raining, our resident students got the opportunity to have a good evening at the Xanadú shopping centre. In the cinema they enjoyed the last movie to be directed by the well known Tim Burton: «Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children».

554. Actividades Extraescolares: Conociendo Madrid (II)

Tal y como anunciamos en la entrada número 549, ayer les tocó a los alumnos residentes de bachillerato disfrutar de un paseo por algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos de la bella ciudad de Madrid.

553. Nueva temporada del Taller de Cocina

Tras el éxito del año pasado, se ha vuelto a poner en marcha el Taller de Cocina. Os dejo la foto del equipo de alumnos que, con la ayuda de la educadora Isabel, componen el taller que endulzará nuestras cenas cada martes.
Ayer disfrutamos de un exquisito bizcocho de limón.

After last year’s success, we continued offering cooking classes for our boarding students. Here is a picture of the cooking club that, with help from Isabel the educator, add a little flavour to our dinner every Tuesday.

552. Cine-fórum: “Cantando bajo la lluvia” de Stanley Donen y Gene Kelly

CANTANDO BAJO LA LLUVIA de Stanley Donen y Gene Kelly (EE.UU. 1952)
Fecha y hora: Jueves 13 de Octubre. 20:45 horas.
Lugar: Salón de Actos de la Residencia.
Para: Alumnos Residentes de 4º de la ESO y Bachillerato.

En 1952 se unieron el coreógrafo y bailarín Stanley Donen con el también coreógrafo y bailarín (además de actor, cantante y protagonista de la película) Gene Kelly para dirigir juntos una de las mejores películas musicales de la historia del cine: Cantando bajo la lluvia.
La película narra, en un acertadísimo tono de humor, las aventuras y desventuras por las que tuvo que pasar la industria cinematográfica de Hollywood durante la década de los 30 en su transición al cine sonoro. Es un pedazo de la historia del cine convertida en comedia, en excelente musical donde el talento de actores y directores dieron en la diana para que “Singing in the rain” (título original de Cantando bajo la lluvia) fuese un clásico desde su estreno. De hecho la escena, canción y baile, que da nombre a la película es un icono indiscutible de la historia del cine.

In 1952, the choreographers and dancers Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly (who is also an actor, singer and the star of the film) joined together to lead one of the best musicals in the history of the cinema: Singing in the rain.
In a humorous tone, the film narrates the adventures and misadventures that the Hollywood film industries had to go through during the 30’s decade in its transition to talkies. It’s a piece of movie history converted into comedy in the form of an excellent musical where the talent of the actors and directors in «Singing in the rain» turned out to be a classic since its release. The scenery, songs and dancing that gives the film its name, is an indisputable icon of cinema history.

551. Actividades del primer fin de semana de Octubre

Los alumnos residentes que se quedan en residencia durante los fines de semana tienen tiempo no sólo para estudiar sino también… por ejemplo:
Disfrutar de la Feria de las Rozas.
Asistir al partido de liga del Santiago Bernabéu: Real Madrid-Eibar.
Visitar la residencia de Valdebebas, donde viven sus compañeros de clase que son jugadores de la cantera del Real Madrid.
Aquí os dejo algunas fotos del estupendo fin de semana pasado.

The boarding students that stay in the residence over the weekends don’t only get sufficient time for their studies, but also… for example:
Enjoy the Feria de las Rozas.
Attend the match at the Santiago Bernabeu League: Real Madrid-Eibar.
Visit the residence of Valdebebas, where their classmates, who are the youth players of Real Madrid, live.
