Ayer se marcharon un grupo de alumnos del colegio suizo de Valmont-Lausanne que han convivido con nosotros durante una semana. Un intercambio en el que han tenido la oportunidad no sólo de disfrutar de Madrid y sus alrededores: Museo del Prado, Reina Sofía, Palacio Real, viaje a Segovia, pistas de nieve de Xanadú, Parque de Atracciones… sino también de compartir actividades de nuestro colegio y nuestra residencia como el taller de cocina, el taller de teatro, nuestro cine-fórum.

Yesterday a group of students from the Swiss school of Valmont-Lausanne who have lived with us for a week are leaving. An exchange in which they have had the opportunity not only to enjoy Madrid and its surroundings: Prado Museum, Reina Sofía, Royal Palace, trip to Segovia, Xanadu snow tracks, Amusement Park … but also to share activities of our school and our residence as the cooking workshop, the theater workshop, and our cinema-forum.

Ayer terminó la duodécima edición de SEKMUN (Modelo de Naciones Unidas aplicado a la enseñanza.)
SEKMUN es la representación del modelo Naciones Unidas, en el que se hace comprender a los participantes que la mejor forma de resolver los problemas es el diálogo y la negociación, y nunca la violencia. La Institución Educativa SEK apuesta por este evento educativo-cultural en el que los alumnos, además de capacitarse en temas de actualidad y de política internacional, adquieren una visión general del mundo.
Durante la semana SEKMUN tuvimos el placer de convivir en nuestras Residencias con 5 alumnos llegado del SEK-Qatar que, junto a otros de nuestros alumnos residentes, participaron de tan importante evento.

Yesterday marked the finish of the twelfth edition of SEKMUN (the school’s Model United Nations).
SEKMUN is the representation of the MUN, in which the participants understand that the best way to solve problems is through dialogue and negotiation, and never violence. The Educational Institution SEK is committed to this educational-cultural event in which students, in addition to being trained in current affairs and international politics, acquire a general vision of the world.
During week of SEKMUN, we had the pleasure of inviting into our residences 5 students from SEK-Qatar who, along with other of our resident students, participated in this important event.

JUEGOS PARALÍMPICOS DE INVIERNO: PYEONGCHANG 2018
FECHAS: Del 9 al 18 de Marzo.
LUGAR: en PYEONGCHANG, ciudad de COREA DEL SUR.
Entre el 9 y el 18 de marzo de 2018, la ciudad surcoreana de PyeongChang, con los Juegos Olímpicos recién terminados, dará la bienvenida a centenares de deportistas de élite discapacitados que participarán en la XII edición de los Juegos Paralímpicos de Invierno, en las mismas instalaciones y alojamiento que disfrutaron sus compañeros olímpicos. En estos deportes compiten atletas ciegos y deficientes visuales, discapacitados físicos y paralíticos cerebrales.
Seguro que los atletas españoles lograrán alguna medalla tal y como han hecho sus 2 compañeros de los recién terminados Juegos Olímpicos.

PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES: PYEONGCHANG 2018

PLACE: in PYEONGCHANG, city of SOUTH KOREA.
Between March 9 and 18, 2018, the South Korean city of PyeongChang, with the Olympic Games just finished, will welcome hundreds of disabled elite athletes who will participate in the XII edition of the Winter Paralympic Games, in the same facilities and accommodation that their Olympic colleagues used. In these sports blind and visually impaired athletes and physically disabled ones will compete.
Surely the Spanish athletes will receive a few medals as did the Spanish athletes in the Olympics.

Tal y como anunciamos en la entrada número 673, ayer disfrutamos del VIII Festival Internacional de Magia celebrado en el Teatro Circo Price. Al final de la función los magos saludaron y se hicieron fotos con el público, situación que nuestros alumnos viven con especial ilusión. Sin duda que hemos pasado una tarde absolutamente mágica.

As we announced in the entry number 673, yesterday we enjoyed the VIII International Festival of Magic held at the Teatro Circo Price. At the end of the show the magicians greeted us and took pictures with the audience, an experience that our students enjoyed with special enthusiasm. There is no doubt in that we have spent an absolutely magical afternoon.

BRAVE de Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman y Steve Purcell (EE.UU. 2012)

El próximo jueves 8 de marzo disfrutaremos de Brave. Una película producida por la ya famosa factoría Pixar. Película que se llevó el Oscar a la Mejor Película de animación y que dada la complejidad de este tipo de cine está dirigida por 3 directores: Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman y Steve Purcell.
Sinopsis: Mérida, la indómita hija del Rey Fergus y de la Reina Elinor, es una hábil arquera que decide romper con una antigua costumbre, que es sagrada para los señores de la tierra. Las acciones de Mérida desencadenan el caos y la furia en el reino. Además, pide ayuda a una sabia anciana que le concede un deseo muy desafortunado. La muchacha tendrá que afrontar grandes peligros antes de aprender qué es la auténtica valentía.

Next Thursday, March 8 we will watch Brave. A film produced by the now famous Pixar factory. A film that won the Oscar for Best Animation Film and given the complexity of this type of film it is directed by 3 directors: Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman and Steve Purcell.
Synopsis: Mérida, the untamed daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor, is a skilled archer who decides to break an ancient custom, which is sacred to the lords of the earth. Merida’s actions unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom. In addition, she asks for help from a wise old woman who gives her a very unfortunate wish. The girl will have to face great dangers before learning what authentic courage is.

Ayer se celebró la gran fiesta del cine americano con la edición número 90 de los famosos Oscars: premios cinematográficos otorgados anualmente por la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de EE.UU.
Fue una gala donde los premios estuvieron muy repartidos, aunque la película ganadora de la noche fue “La forma del agua”, dirigida por el mexicano Guillermo del Toro, que se llevó 4 premios Oscars incluyendo los dos premios más importantes: el de Mejor Película y el de Mejor Director.

Yesterday the great festival of American cinema was held; the 90th edition of the famous Oscars: film awards hosted annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the USA.
It was a gala where prizes were very distributed, although the winning film of the night was «The Shape of Water», directed by the Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, who won 4 Oscars including the two most important awards: Best Film and Best Director.

Los mejores magos del mundo se dan cita en la ciudad de Madrid con la intención de dejarnos boquiabiertos. El evento principal, la Gala Internacional de Magia de Escena, reunirá sobre el escenario a algunos de los mejores magos del mundo; Ilusionistas de distintas nacionalidades y disciplinas aunarán fuerzas para crear un show espectacular. Será el quinto año consecutivo en el que nuestros alumnos residentes disfrutarán de un festival literalmente mágico.

It will be the fifth consecutive year in which our students enjoy a literally magical festival.
