Blancanieves pasará a la historia del cine español como una de las más premiadas, con 10 premios Goya, incluyendo el premio de Mejor Película del año.
El éxito de la película radica en la versión libre que escribe Pablo Berger, quien también la dirige, del cuento clásico de los hermanos Grimm, trasladando la conocida historia a los años 20 de una España taurina. Pablo Berger arriesgó, y le salió de fábula, al rodar la película en formato cine mudo y blanco y negro. La fuerza del guion se traslada al poder de las imágenes y el apoyo de la música, consiguiendo un conjunto de una belleza sublime que conecta con las emociones del espectador de manera sobrecogedora.

Sinopsis: Blancanieves es Carmen (interpretada por Macarena García), una bella joven con una infancia atormentada por su terrible madrastra Encarna (impresionante interpretación de Maribel Verdú). Huyendo de su pasado, Carmen emprenderá un apasionante viaje acompañada por sus nuevos amigos: una troupe de Enanos
Toreros.

The success of the film lies in the opener version that Pablo Berger writes, who also directs, the classic tale of the Brothers Grimm, the with the familiar story moved to the 20s in a bullfighting Spain. Paul Berger risked, and came to marvel, by shooting the film as a silent film in a black and white format.
